Domain value - what is it? Easily explained
A website that has been online for some time and has many visitors has a domain value at which it can be sold. You can read what the domain value is and how it is composed in this article.
Domain value: what is it?
The domain value describes how much money an Internet address - a so-called domain - is worth. If you are considering selling your website, you should first find out about the domain value. This depends on various factors:
- Sound: The domain should be short, logical and memorable.
- Ending: The so-called top-level domain, for example ".de", ".com" or ".org" also decides on the value.
- Google: The better the page can be found on Google or other search engines, the higher its value.
- Back links: The more links on other websites link to the domain, the more often it will be visited. This increases the value.
- Market potential: If the site has a certain market potential, for example by offering a service, the value increases.
- Age: The older the domain, the greater its value.
- Market situation: Demand determines the price. If there is a buyer who absolutely wants the domain, the price can be set higher.
