Format hard drive for TV - Here's how
You can save recorded films or series on a hard drive. However, you should format the hard drive for the TV, as these files can be quite large. Read this practical tip to find out exactly how you should proceed.
Format hard drive for TV - you have to do that
So that the hard drive also works on your TV, you have to format it separately. Be sure to back up your hard drive beforehand.
- Connect the hard drive to your PC until it is visible under "Computer".
- Now you need the free tool Fat32Formatter, which you can download from our download portal.
- You do not need to install the software, you can run it directly - also ideal for USB sticks.
- Select the connected hard drive under "Physical Drive" above.
- Now the size of the hard drive is displayed. This serves for further identification.
- Below you can choose how big the hard disk should be under "Size (MB)". Usually the largest possible value is already entered here.
- Clicking "Start" will format the hard drive in FAT32 format. Wait for the process to finish.
- You can then use the hard drive on the TV.
