Geeknote: Use Evernote from the console - how it works
With the Geeknote tool, you can also use the popular Evernote service from the console. We show you how it works.

The tool is available for many Linux systems and Mac OS X. You can install it using a Python script:
- Open a terminal or console window of your choice.
- Download the repository with the command "git clone git: //github.com/VitaliyRodnenko/geeknote.git". If you run the command on a Mac, you may need to install the developer kit first. Simply follow the instructions that appear after entering the command.
- Use the "cd geeknote" command to change to the "geeknote" directory.
- Run the installation script using the "sudo python setup.py install" command.
- Geeknote was successfully installed and integrated into the system.
Set up Geeknote
After successful installation, you still need to set up Geeknote:
- Log in with the "geeknote login" command. Enter your email address and your password. You can skip the "Code" item by pressing the Enter key. You will then receive an email confirmation that Geeknote has successfully connected to your Evernote account.
- You can use the "geeknote logout" command to log out if necessary.
- If you want to change your editor, you should do so now. With the command "geeknote settings --editor" you can display the currently used editor. For example, if you want to switch to the VIM editor, execute the command "geeknote settings --editor vim".
- You have successfully configured Geeknote.
