Gimp: Round corners - how it works
Whether for icons or profile pictures - rounded corners are very trendy. We show you how you can round off your pictures yourself with Gimp.
Round off square pictures in Gimp
- Open the desired picture and click on "Selection" in the menu bar.
- Select "Rounded Rectangle" from the drop-down menu. A new window is opening up.
- Use the slider to determine the degree of the rounded corners. The further you drag the slider to the right, the more the picture is rounded off. Click OK to apply the changes.
- Now select the "Invert" entry under "View" to mark only the corners. Delete this by clicking on [Del]. The picture is now rounded.

Instead of cutting away the corners, you can also hide the edge of the picture in the transparent.
