GMail: Deactivate confirmation in two steps - how it works
You can deactivate the Gmail confirmation in two steps at any time in your Google account. In this practical tip you can read how it works.
Disable two-step GoogleMail verification
The two-step confirmation is an additional security mechanism to protect your Google account from unauthorized access. If the function is activated, you have to enter a multi-digit SMS code each time you log into your Gmail account. However, if you have problems logging in, you can switch off the protection again:
- Go to the Google homepage and log in to your Google account.
- Then click on your picture in the top right corner and then on "Account".
- Navigate to the "Security" tab at the top of the menu.
- Now go to "Settings" under "Confirmation in two steps".
- On the right side you will find a box with the inscription "The confirmation in two steps is: On" (see picture). Click the "Deactivate" button here.
- In the pop-up window, check the box next to "Also delete my two-step confirmation settings" and then confirm again with "Deactivate".
