i7 processor: what does that mean?
The various computer models mostly have i3, i5 or i7 processors. What is behind it is especially important when buying a new computer. Because here Turbo PCs differ from lame ducks. In this article we explain the advantages of an i7 processor.
An i7 processor comes with these specifications
- Intel sells processors with the names i3 and i5 as well as with the abbreviation i7. The higher number does not primarily mean better performance, but for a number of features.
- The i7 processors built into laptops mostly work with 2 cores (dual core), in desktop computers up to 8 cores are currently possible (octa core). The processors are primarily suitable for complex photo or video work as well as for demanding gaming.
- The i7 processors belong to the highest class that Intel has to offer. The processors are often combined with other high-quality hardware, so products with an i7 processor are usually much more expensive.
- However, an i7 processor is not always more powerful than an i5 processor. Even if a weak i7 processor has more functions, a strong i5 processor can perform better. Before you buy a new PC, you should therefore take a look at the processor best list.
