Change the background of the Instagram story: Step 1: Select "Create".

Step 3 + 4: change your background

You don't need a photo to change the background of your Instagram story. Instead, choose from several ways to interact with yours. This can also help you to have more followers.

1. When opening the Instagram story function, the story is set to "Normal". Slide the slider below the photo capture button to the left to "Create".
2. Select your desired function under "Create". Whether you want to write a simple text, create a survey, start a countdown or much more - you can always change a background.
3. Once you have made your selection, you will find a colored circle with a white border in the lower right corner. When you tap this, the color of your background changes. You can choose between trendy colors and black and white.
4. You can also choose a background later. Tap "Next" when you are finished creating your question / survey / countdown or similar. Now you can add additional filters, additional text, GiFs and similar as well as change the background. To do this, tap the same circle in the upper left corner.
