iPad: Hide apps - how it works
Under iOS 7, you can hide any apps or even entire folders on your iPad. No matter if you want to keep a certain app secret or just want to get rid of a pre-installed but unwanted app, with the following instructions you can hide each app on your iPad.
Hide private apps on iPad under iOS7
You can make private apps or folders, such as photo albums, invisible to others on your iPad. The icon of the app is then neither on the home screen nor in a folder, but can only be reached via the "Search iPhone" function.
- The homescreen (start screen) must be completely filled with apps and at least one folder - no place may remain empty.
- The app (or folder) to be hidden must be placed at the bottom of the homescreen in the dock.
- Now put your finger on the app to be hidden and quickly press the home button twice (before the apps start to wiggle), so that the app switcher opens.
- In the app switcher, select the start screen again and you will see that the app previously tapped in the dock, unlike all other apps, is not wobbly, gray and appears slightly enlarged.
- Now you have to open any folder on the home screen and close it by tapping the home screen outside the folder.
- If you now press the home button, not only will all the apps stop shaking, but the gray app to be hidden will disappear from the dock.
You can also use the same method to hide pre-installed apps from Apple if you cannot delete them. You can also hide such apps with the help of an app. Read in this practical tip how it works.
If you are primarily concerned with privacy when hiding, the "PrivateMSG" app could be of interest to you. With it you can encrypt all messages from WhatsApp, Twitter and Co.
