- Switch off the device immediately after the accident. Also remove the power cable if it is connected.
- Now try to remove all water from the device. To do this, hold the iPad at different angles so that the liquid that has penetrated can drain off.
- Then dab the tablet with a dry cloth.
- An insider tip that you should try afterwards: Pack your iPad in an airtight bag with rice.
- You can unpack the device after at least 48 hours. In many cases the iOS device works again.
Emergency plan for wet iPad: drying and repair
If you have dropped your iPad into the water, you should try - as described above - to dry the device immediately when it is switched off.
- If the iPad still does not work afterwards, you must have the device repaired.
- It may be enough to replace the battery of your iPad, but this is not an easy task for Apple devices. So it's best to go to an electronics shop.

- If you have Apple Care insurance, water damage is usually also covered.
