iPhone battery discharges on the cable - you can do that
First of all, you should check whether your iPhone has registered the plugged in cable and the charging process is in progress.
- When you plug in the cable, a battery symbol with a flash should appear in the top right. If not, you can read what you can do here.
- Carefully remove dust from the charging socket with compressed air spray, the supplied SIM tool or a toothbrush. Be careful not to scratch the contacts.
- Next, rule out that it's at the outlet: recharge your iPhone at another outlet.
- If the problem is not the outlet, it could be the cable. If possible, try a different cable or try charging your iPhone with a USB cable on the computer.
- Even though it is unlikely, you should rule out that your iPhone uses more power than it can draw from the power source. Therefore, close all applications.

If you have not been able to solve the problem with the above approaches, you should try the following options:
- There may be a software problem. In this case, you have to set up your iPhone again. Test the loading before you import the backup.
- If the problem persists, you will need to get your iPhone repaired. If you still have a warranty, contact the nearest Apple store.
- If the warranty period has expired, contact an iPhone repair provider.
