iPhone / iPad: E-mail could not be moved - problem solving
If you get the error message "E-mail could not be moved" on the iPhone or iPad, only a few troubleshooting steps are required. In this practical tip, we will show you exactly how to do this.
Email could not be moved - cause
- This problem occurs if the email account is not assigned a recycle bin for deleted emails. It is therefore not clear to the mail app what should happen to the emails that are to be deleted.
- But don't worry: only a few simple steps are required to troubleshoot. You only have to make a suitable assignment for the deleted mails.
- To do this, simply proceed as described to resolve the problem.
E-mail could not be moved on the iPhone / iPad - you can do that
- First go to "Settings"> "Mail"> "Accounts" on your iPhone or iPad.
- Select your account there and tap on "Account" above.
- Under "Advanced" under "Move deleted emails to:" then select "Deleted" (see picture).
- The change is then accepted and the error should no longer occur.
- Note: You must follow these steps for each account so that the problem no longer occurs there.
- If these instructions are unsuccessful, you can try to delete your mail account and set it up again.
