iPhone microphone: it is here
The exact location of the microphone on the iPhone differs from model to model. With almost every design upgrade, Apple has also changed the location of the microphone. We show you where the hardware for all iPhone models from iPhone 3 is located.
iPhone: Here is the microphone
- iPhone 5 and newer: The graphic shows you all three microphones for the iPhone 5 and newer models. There is a microphone next to the FaceTime camera, one on the back next to the front camera and one at the bottom.
- iPhone 4 and 4S: There is a microphone next to each camera. The third microphone under the iPhone does not yet exist here.
- iPhone 3 and 3GS: These two models only have a microphone at the lower end, to the right of the docking port.
If the recordings are to be particularly good, you have to use external microphones. Only then will you be satisfied with the quality.
