iPhone: recognize songs with Siri - how it works
Since iOS 8, Siri can recognize entire songs on your iPhone. We'll show you how it works.
iPhone: Recognize songs with Siri
Apple works with the "Shazam" service so that Siri can recognize played songs. The Shazam app has already recognized songs - now it is almost no longer necessary:
- Press and hold the home button on your iOS device to start Siri.
- Ask the question, "What's the name of the song?" Siri starts listening. Alternatively, you can wait a moment for Siri to automatically start detection.
- After about five to ten seconds, Siri makes a suggestion. If the prerequisites for the recognition are optimal, the correct song appears immediately. If this is not the case, you can start the detection again.
What to do after Siri recognizes the song
If Siri shows you the correct song, you have several options:
- Click the "Buy" button to open the iTunes Store directly. Here you can listen to a section of the song and buy it on request.
- If you tap on the lettering "Shazam", the Shazam app opens. If you have not installed the free tool, you can do it directly via the AppStore.
- If you hold the home button for a few seconds, the title will be saved on your wish list.
- Then open the iTunes Store and tap "More" in the bottom right corner. Select the "Purchases" here and tap on the list symbol at the top. Here you will find your "wish list", as well as all the songs recognized with Siri under the category "Siri".
