iTunes Error -50: Troubleshooting
If you get the error "There was an error loading your purchased music. An unknown error occurred (-50)." displayed, no connection to the download servers can be established. The following can help:
- Restart iTunes: First of all, you should try a simple restart of iTunes.
- Deactivate anti-virus program: The anti-virus program usually blocks the connection to the servers. Turn it off for a brief moment.
- Disable firewall: The firewall is also often the cause of the problem. You can find out how to switch them off in this practical tip.
- Unlock server: Check the firewall to see if one of the following servers has been blocked by mistake: itunes.apple.com, ax.itunes.apple.com, albert.apple.com, gs.apple.com, deimos3.apple. com, phobos.apple.com.
- Apple's servers may also be overloaded or down. If the instructions in the next paragraph are not successful either, wait a few hours and try again.
