iTunes Match doesn't sync - what to do?
With iTunes Match you always have all your music with you. But what can you do if the streaming service stops synchronizing? We'll show you how to get the cloud service up and running again.
iTunes Match doesn't sync - you can
If iTunes-Match no longer synchronizes, there can be many reasons. First try to find the error in the program itself:
- Also check that your PC is connected to the internet. To do this, open any website in your browser or check your connection to the iTunes store: If iTunes does not display a cloud next to your music, you are not connected to the store. Here you can find out whether the problem is with Apple.
- Log out of the iTunes store and log in again. To do this, click on "View Account (Apple ID)" under "iTunes Store". Select "Logout" here and log in again with your Apple ID.
- Alternatively, you can also carry out the synchronization manually. To do this, select the "Update iTunes Match" option under the "iTunes Store" button.
MacOS tip: iTunes Match does not respond
Mac users can also find the iTunes error in a different way: First open iTunes and start the match synchronization.
- Now start the activity display via the Spotlight search.
- Highlight iTunes and click the "Information" button at the top.
- You will now receive detailed information about the process. Switch to the "Open files and ports" tab.
- Scroll all the way down. Here you can see the music file iTunes is currently attached to.
- You can now proceed in different ways. We'll show you exactly what you need to consider in the next paragraph.
Incorrect synchronization in iTunes Match: How to fix the problem
If iTunes Match hangs during synchronization, there are two ways to fix the error:
- You simply delete the affected song from iTunes. As a result, the song is no longer available in the cloud. You can add the file again later.
- Alternatively, convert the file with the integrated AAC converter: To do this, right-click on the corresponding song and select the "Create AAC version" option. Wait a little while for iTunes to finish converting. Then delete the original file and start iTunes Match again.
If iTunes finally syncs your music, the next problem may arise. What you can do if iTunes Match does not recognize a song can be found in the next practical tip.
