Kindle: Activate parental controls
You can activate individual parental controls on Kindle devices. For example, other people cannot surf or shop in the Kindle Store without a password.
First, make sure your Kindle is up to date.
- If your Kindle is up-to-date, press the menu button on the top right of the start screen and then "Settings".
- Navigate to Device Options> Parental Controls. Here you can secure three functions with a password under "Restrictions": the browser, the Kindle shop and the cloud.
- Set the functions that you want to deactivate to "Off" and confirm with "OK". You may have to set a password here. For example, in the screenshot you can see a configuration in which only the browser is deactivated.
- You can recognize the childproof mode by the fact that a lock symbol appears in the top bar. The blocked functions remain grayed out until you reactivate them in the same way.
