Copy and paste - that's how it works faster
The free click.to tool enables faster copying and pasting. We'll show you exactly how this works.
Copy & paste for professionals
- First install the free click.to and let yourself be guided through the configuration.
- The program will then automatically report itself as soon as you copy something to the clipboard with the usual key combination [Ctrl] + [C]. In addition to the current mouse pointer, there are now some symbols from other programs and web services into which you can paste the copied content with just a click of the mouse.
- For example, a highlighted term, whether in text, program code or on a website, can be quickly highlighted and immediately looked up on Google.
- Or you can add a highlighted photo to a new message in Outlook with just one click; or even after a one-time registration and link to your Flickr account. Clicking on the arrow symbol on the right of the selection shows the Click.to menu with all other destinations.
Configure the details
- To adjust the displayed symbols more precisely, right-click on the symbol in the notification area of the taskbar and select the context command "Options". You can always reach this in the menu of the displayed symbols.
- In the list, select the check boxes for those entries that should immediately be visible as symbols, which is referred to as "Satellite". All other entries with "Menu only" can be reached via the context menu. With "Up" and "Down" all elements can be sorted.
- You can also assign keyboard shortcuts to individual destinations. For example, Google can be highlighted and then set to "Shortcut", for example [Alt] + [V], to carry out the search directly.
- In the "Appearance" tab, change the display location of the satellite symbols by clicking on the desired area if the symbols should not appear directly above the mouse pointer. The display duration can also be adjusted in seconds. Confirm with OK".
- You can deactivate the tool by right-clicking on the Click.to icon in the notification area of the taskbar> "Hide for this application".
Integrate other programs and services
If, despite the variety on offer, you miss one or the other program or a popular service on the Internet, simply add what you want:
- To do this, open the "Options" and click on "Add" in the "Actions" tab. Select the variant "Add a Windows application call" and click on "Add".
- Below "Path of the Application or Program" click on "Browse" and navigate to the EXE file of the program you are looking for. Enter a suitable name above and check the "Icon".
- In the "Arguments of the call" field, the call can be limited to certain content types for the target application. Possible arguments here include "[Text]", "[Files]", "[FilesLines]" or "[ImageFile]" to only text content, file names separated by commas, file names separated by a line break or only transferring image files. Finally confirm the whole with "OK".
