Remove Mobogenie adware - Here's how

Remove the "Mobogenie" adware from your computer as soon as possible, otherwise there may be nasty surprises. With our instructions, this works easily in a few minutes.

1. Remove Mobogenie from the "Programs"

"Mobogenie" is not a virus in the strict sense. Nevertheless, you should delete the adware from your Windows system. To do this, you must open the "System Settings" using the Windows button:

1. In the system settings click on "Uninstall a program".
2. A new window opens: Here you look for entries of the adware "Mobogenie". Sorting by installation date is helpful when tracking down the software.
3. Select an entry and click the "Uninstall" button.

2. Remove hidden entries with AdwCleaner

Deletion programs help you remove annoying browser viruses:

1. Download the AdwCleaner deletion program from the CHIP website.
2. Install the program and then run it "As administrator".
3. Follow the program's instructions and scan your computer for malware.

3. Remove the Mobogenie adware from Google Chrome

Not only should your system be free of "Mobogenie", you should also remove the malware from your browsers. For Google Chrome, this guide will help you:

1. To the right of the address bar is a symbol with 3 stripes. Click on it and then move the mouse over the menu item "Tools".
2. Then click on "Extensions".
3. Look for entries of "Mobogenie" under your add-ons. Click on the trash to remove them from the browser. Then you have to reset your browser.

Remove adware from Firefox

If you use Firefox, do the following:

1. To access the add-on settings, click the orange Firefox button in the top left.
2. In the new tab click on "Add-Ons" and then on "Extensions".
3. The entry of "Mobogenie" should be removed immediately. To do this, search for the entry and deactivate it. Then reset your browser.

Delete adware from Internet Explorer

We explain in three steps how to remove the adware from Internet Explorer:

1. Click the gear icon in the top right corner to open the menu.
2. Now click on "Manage Add-ons".
3. In the new window select "Toolbars and Extensions" and search and deactivate entries of "Mobogenie". Finally, you must reset the IE to the factory settings.
