Uninstall OpenOffice - how it works
To free up disk space, you should uninstall programs that you no longer use. This practical tip shows you how to uninstall OpenOffice office software properly.
How to uninstall OpenOffice from Windows
Since OpenOffice does not come with an uninstall program itself, you can either use external additional tools, such as the free CCleaner, or alternatively use the Windows uninstall program. The procedure described below applies to Windows 7, but is similar in the other versions of Windows.
- First open the Control Panel.
- In the "Adjust computer settings" menu, select the "Programs" section.
- Under "Programs" click "Uninstall a program".
- You get to the "Uninstall or change programs" menu. Select OpenOffice here.
- Finally, click on "Uninstall" in the menu bar and confirm your decision in the security question with "Yes".

After you've banned OpenOffice from your hard drive, LibreOffice may be an alternative for you.
