Secure Boot Violation on startup - you can do that
Many ASUS notebooks display the "Secure Boot Violation" error message when starting Windows 7 after the last update. The error is caused by the "Secure Boot" security function. We'll show you how to fix it.
Secure Boot Violation - where does the error come from?
- Secure Boot is a security feature designed to protect the computer from BIOS errors. Microsoft supports the feature from Windows 8.
- With the update KB3133977 for Windows 7 the error message "Secure Boot Violation" appears for many ASUS users and the computer can no longer be started.
- After the update, the BIOS of the ASUS devices apparently assumes that the Windows version supports Secure Boot and activates the function.
- To fix the error, you have to disable Secure Boot manually. We will explain how this works with ASUS notebooks in the next paragraph.
- So far, the bug is only known by ASUS users. If the problem also occurs with devices from other manufacturers, also deactivate the Secure Boot function on the device. You can use the instructions in this guide as a guide.
