You can also open a dialog in OpenOffice and choose from various special characters:
- To do this, place the cursor on the text where you want to insert a special character. This is possible both in the body text and in a table.
- Click on "Insert"> "Special Characters" in the menu bar.
- In the next window, select the special character to be inserted. This then appears on the right in the window in an enlarged view. With a click on "OK" you insert the special character in your text. Repeat the process for other special characters.
- If you can't find a specific character, it may be due to your chosen font. In this case, switch to another one (e.g. Times New Roman) and try again.
So that you can use all special characters directly, we explain in another practical tip how you can select a specific font as the standard font.
