Spotify error code 6: you can do that
If Spotify reports error code 6 at startup, you can no longer use the software. In this practical tip, we will show you step by step how to solve the problem.
Step 1: reinstall Spotify at error code 6
- The first thing you should do is uninstall Spotify from your computer. Your saved songs and playlists will not be lost.

- Restart your computer and download the latest version of Spotify. In the best case, error code 6 no longer occurs after installation.
Step 2: remove Spotify cache at error code 6
If error 6 still occurs when you start Spotify, you can also delete some data. Then Spotify should run again.
- Press the [Windows] and [R] keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens.
- Enter "cmd" here and confirm with "OK". Now the command prompt starts.
- Copy the command "RD / S / QC: \ Users \ YourUSER \ AppData \ Local \ Spotify" into it.
- If you confirm with the [Enter] key, the cache is deleted.
- Repeat the steps for the command "RD / S / QC: \ Users \ YourUSER \ AppData \ Roaming \ Spotify".
