Disconnect Spotify from Facebook account
If you disconnect Spotify from your Facebook account, the streaming service will no longer post music you have just heard on your profile. We show you how to do this and what you need to consider.
Disconnect Spotify from the Facebook account - these are the consequences
Unfortunately, you cannot easily separate the two services: If you remove the connection between Facebook and Spotify, your Spotify account will be deleted immediately and you will have to register again (by email). You should of course save your playlists beforehand. We explain all of this to you in the following paragraphs.
Step 1: create a new Spotify account
- The first thing you should do is create a new Spotify account with your email address. To do this, open the Spotify website.
- Click on "Register" in the top right and then on "Register".
- Enter all the necessary data here and confirm by clicking on the "Register" button.
Step 2: transfer playlists from Spotify
If you haven't created any playlists in Spotify or you don't want to transfer them to your new account, you can skip this step. Otherwise, do the following:
- Start Spotify and right click on a playlist in the menu bar.
- If you select the "Publish" option, you can then subscribe to the playlist with the new account. You should also give the playlist a special name.
- Now log into your new account via Spotify and search for the playlist. "Follow" this and then drag all songs from this playlist into a newly created playlist for your new account.
- If the playlist is then completely on the new account, you have to repeat this step for all other playlists.
Step 3: disconnect Spotify from Facebook
If you disconnect Spotify from Facebook, your old Spotify account and all data will be deleted:
- Open Facebook and click the gear icon in the top right.
- Select the "Account Settings" there and then click on the "Apps" category in the left menu bar.
- Look for Spotify in the list and click the little cross on the right. Then confirm this with "Remove".
