Set up static DNS under Windows - how it works
Static DNS has many advantages. We'll show you how to set it up on Windows.
Windows: Set up static DNS
- Open the Control Panel and select the "Network and Sharing Center" under the "Network and Internet" category.
- Click on the "Change adapter settings" option on the left and then select the desired LAN or WLAN connection.
- Right-click the connection and then click Properties.
- Click on "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4)" in the list below and then on the "Properties" button.
Configure static DNS under Windows
- In the properties you will find the options "Use the following IP address" and "Use the following DNS server addresses".
- Enter the data of your desired DNS server here and all other required information.
- You can make further settings using the "Advanced" button. As a rule, however, this is not necessary.
- Finally save the settings with "OK".
