Tax ID lost: This is how you have to proceed
If you have lost your personal tax ID, it doesn't matter. We will show you how to find the number elsewhere and, if in doubt, apply for a new one.
Tax ID lost: Here you will find the number
You once received the 11-digit tax identification number from the Federal Central Tax Office. However, the letter is not the only document on which you can find the number.
- Also take a look at your income tax card or your last tax assessment. The Stuer ID is also listed here.
- If you keep your document carefully, you may also find an information letter from your tax office in 2011. Your tax ID is also here.
Apply for the lost tax ID again
- If you have gone through all the options and have still not found what you are looking for, you can still contact the Federal Central Tax Office. Fill out the form completely with your data.
- Your tax ID will then be determined and sent to your registration address by post. However, this process can take up to 4 weeks.
