Use Threema on Apple Watch or Smart Watch - how it works

If you also want to use the Messenger Threema on your Apple Watch or another smart watch, this is unfortunately only possible to a limited extent. We show you what works and what doesn't.

Threema: No support for the Apple Watch

• Unfortunately there is currently no Threema app for the Apple Watch. Even a year after the release of the Apple Watch, not much has changed here.
• If you receive a message about Threema, you will only see a message about it on the Apple Watch. But that's all that is possible on the Apple Watch with Threema.

Smart Watch: Use Threema on Android Wear

• If you use a smart watch with the Android Wear system, it looks much better. Threema offers a wide range of functions under Android Wear:
• To do this, install Threema for Android Wear. Your messages are then automatically displayed on the smart watch. However, longer texts cannot be read completely.
• On the smart watch, you can not only view messages, but also display pictures. Voice messages and message confirmations can also be sent.
