Remove Tortuga ads - Here's how
The Tortuga browser or the add-ons of the same name are so-called potentially unwanted programs that you should remove as soon as possible. We explain why and how to proceed.
Remove Tortuga ads: This is behind Tortuga
- Tortuga is both an independent browser and an add-on for all other common browsers.
- You have probably installed the program unconsciously in a bundle with freeware. So in the future, be careful when installing free software and choose the custom installation.
- The browser or the addons shower you with advertising and deceptively real search results. You, in turn, can redirect these to pages with malicious software.
- The developer of the software can then generate profits through advertising.
Remove Tortuga completely from the system
If you want to remove the malware completely, you must first uninstall it in the Control Panel and then remove it in all browsers:
- Open the Windows Control Panel and look for Tortuga.
- Right-click to uninstall the program. You should also take this opportunity to remove other programs that were recently installed, but are new to you.
- You may have already caught additional adware through Tortuga, so check the system with AdwCleaner.
- To do this, download AdwCleaner. Install the program and carry out a complete system check. This may take several hours.
- Then restart your PC.
