In this practical tip we will show you how to display the version of your installed kernel under Linux.
Show kernel version in Linux
You can read out the kernel version of your computer from the Linux terminal with just one command.
- Open the terminal with the key combination [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [T]. Alternatively, you can open the tool via the search.
- Enter the command "uname -r" into the terminal and then press the Enter key.
- You can now read the kernel version.
- The "uname -a" command provides you with additional system information.
