Remove watermark from video - Here's how
Every editor who has worked with television recordings probably also wanted to remove watermarks from a video. This practical tip shows you how you can easily solve this problem. It doesn't matter whether you already have video editing programs or want to work with a free version.
Remove watermark: Virtual Dub & Logoaway
A free and efficient watermark removal tool is "Logoaway".
- "Logoaway" is a free plugin for the also free editing program "VirtualDub", which you can download for free from CHIP.
- After installing the program, you must download the "Logoaway" plug-in and save it anywhere. You can find the program on Google.
- Unfortunately "VirtualDub" does not support all common video formats by default. For example, to edit MP4 files in "VirtualDub", a little trick is necessary, which we will show you in this practical tip.
- Fortunately, if you have a video editing program such as "Magix Video Deluxe", you can also access "Logoaway". Some versions of the program allow you to add the plugin via the "Plugin Manager".
Remove logo away watermark from video
- First, open a watermarked video in "VirtualDub". Now click on "Video" -> "Filters" -> "Add" -> "Load" and open "Logoaway". Now mark the filter in the list and click on "OK".
- In the settings that are now open, you should first select the "Solid fill" option. If you now click on "Show preview", you will see a small black box in the video.
- You can use the "Logo border position" to select X and Y coordinates on which the box should lie. Under "Logo border size" you determine its size.
- After setting the filter so that the box is over the watermark, click on "UGLARM" to remove the logo. Ideally, the box is slightly larger than the logo.
- In addition, you can drag the "Exponent power" control to the right to improve the result.
- Click "OK" to save the settings.
