Windows 7: Manually set the number of processors
Windows 7 usually starts with all available cores. However, you can also set the number of processors manually. You can read how this works in this practical tip.
Manually change CPU cores
- Enter the command "msconfig" in the search bar of the start menu.
- In the "Start" tab, click on "Advanced Options".
- Here you can select your number of processors manually. Then save your settings by clicking "OK" and "Apply".
- Your Windows 7 computer will now start with the number of processors you have configured.
If your PC stops working properly, you can undo all settings in safe mode.
