Windows 7: Show drives in the Start menu
In Windows 7 you can view all drives in the Start menu. So you have direct access to your connected hard drives, partitions or external DVD players. We'll show you how to activate this feature.
Integrate the drives into the Windows 7 start menu
In order to activate the drives in your start menu, you have to make a small change in the Windows settings:
- First, right-click on the Windows logo in the taskbar. Select the entry [Properties].
- A window will now open. Click on the [Customize] button in the [Start menu] tab.
- In the new window, click on the [Show as menu] entry in the [Computer] sub-item. As in the screenshot, a blue dot should now appear in front of it. Confirm the changes by clicking on [Ok].
- The drives can now be called up directly in the start menu via the entry [Computer].
