Windows 7: Transfer sound to TV via HDMI
If you connect your PC to the TV with an HDMI cable, it may happen that the sound is not initially transmitted. Find out how to solve this problem here.
How can I send the sound to the output device via HDMI cable?
If you have connected your PC to the TV using an HDMI cable, proceed as follows:
- In the task bar at the bottom right you will find a small loudspeaker symbol next to the time display. Open the context menu with a right click.
- You will now see a list in which you select "Playback devices".
- Then a new "Sound" window opens that shows you all the audio playback devices that are installed on your computer (see screenshot).
- Here it is absolutely necessary that a green checkmark appears at "HDMI Output" (see screenshot).
- If you don't see a green tick, double-click the "HDMI Output" button.
- A window opens - here you see a drop-down menu under "Device usage". Select the "Use (activate) device" option.
- Confirm the settings with "Ok" - now the sound should be transmitted to your television without any problems.
