Windows 8: How to pay in the App Store
You can only pay for an app in the Windows 8 App Store using PayPal or a credit card. We show you what you have to consider and how it works.
Get it in the Windows 8 app store
You need a Microsoft account under Windows 8 to download free and paid apps. If you don't already have one, this practical tip will show you how to create one.
- Open the app store and select a paid app.
- Click on the "Buy" button below the price and then on "Confirm".
- Log in to your Microsoft account with your email address and password.
- You now have the choice between paying by credit card or PayPal. Select one of the two options, fill in the empty fields and click on the green "Send" button. The app is then downloaded and installed.
Payment via PayPal
Fill in all fields. You just do not have to provide your telephone number. If you click "Submit", you will be redirected to the usual PayPal payment method. There you have to log into your PayPal account and confirm the purchase.
payment with credit card
You can pay with Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Again, all fields except for the phone number must be filled out. If you buy an app by credit card, transaction fees may be charged by your credit card company.
Note: The first purchase in the App Store takes some time until all data has been entered. For the next purchase, however, your data will be stored encrypted so that the process is much faster.
