Windows 8: Add mail account
You can add several mail accounts to the Windows 8 mail app and thus see the private Gmail account and a business mail account in parallel from the start screen. This guide shows you how to set up a new mail account.
Add mail account in Windows 8
- Open the Mail app under Windows 8 and open the settings with the key combination [Windows] key + [I].
- Click "Accounts" and then select "Add Account". The button is located under the already configured accounts.
- Select the mail provider, such as Gmail, Yahoo Mail or Outlook. If your mail provider is not listed, click on "Other account".
- With Google, Outlook or Yahoo, you only need your login information, i.e. your e-mail address and your password. You may have to confirm the process using a number code.
- With providers such as GMX or web.de you still have to enter POP or IMAP information in order to use the account. You can usually find this on your provider's website.
