Windows does not recognize printers - this may be the reason
This guide shows you what you can do if Windows does not recognize your printer.
Windows does not recognize printers - you can do that
- First, make sure the printer is properly connected to power and your PC. If necessary, select a different USB port that works with other devices (such as the mouse).
- Install the appropriate drivers for your device. You can find this in the driver overview of CHIP Online and on the manufacturer's website. Restart your PC after installation.
- If your printer is still not recognized, open the Control Panel and click on "Hardware and Sound". Select "Devices and Printers" and see if your printer is shown.
- If your printer appears but cannot be used, right-click the device troubleshooter and follow the steps on the screen.
- If the printer is still not recognized, you must contact the manufacturer's customer service.
