Windows Live Mail: Back up contacts
If you're signed in with a Windows Live ID, your contacts are automatically synced. Otherwise you have to save your contacts manually:
- Open Windows Live Mail and click "Contacts" in the lower left corner.
- In the top menu bar click on "Export". Select the .CSV file format.
- Click on "Browse ...". Then specify the location and file name for your backup, for example "Business.csv" on your desktop.
- Click "Save" and then "Next".
- Select the fields you want to export and click "Finish".

Windows Live Mail: Restore contacts
You can restore the contact information as follows:
- Open Windows Live Mail and click "Contacts" in the lower left corner.
- In the top menu bar click on "Import". Select the .CSV file format.
- Click on "Browse ..." and select the CSV file with your contacts. Click "Open" and then "Next".
- Select the fields you want to import and click "Finish".
