Windows: Deactivate voice output - how it works
If the speech output is switched on under Windows, all texts are read out on the screen. In this article we will tell you how to deactivate the option again.
Windows XP to 10: Deactivate speech output
Narrator has been around since Windows XP and has not changed to this day. The following steps therefore work with all Windows systems.
- Click on the Windows logo at the bottom left or on "Start" and select "Control Panel" in the Start menu.
- Change here to the "Ease of Access" category and click on "Ease of Access Center".
- Scroll down a little and click on the entry "Use a computer without a screen".
- In the "Read text aloud" section, remove the checkmark in front of "Activate voice output".
- Finally click on "OK" to save the changes.
