Enter the root in LaTeX - all information
In LaTeX you can enter a root with little effort. In this practical tip, we show you which commands you need for this.
LaTeX: Enter the root - how it works
You can create a root with just one command in math mode:
- In the screenshot you can see how you can generate the Nth root and a simple square root.
- You can generate the Nth root of two with the command $ \ sqrt [N] {number} $. For example, the third root of 2 looks like this: $ \ sqrt [3] {2} $.
- If you want to enter a simple square root, simply omit the square brackets: $ \ sqrt {number} $.
