Airplay with the Mac: Here's how
In conjunction with Apple TV, Airplay works very easily with your MacBook. This allows you to transfer content from your Macbook to your TV immediately. Even HD content is supported with an appropriate internet connection and a stable WiFi router. Our tip tells you how to do it.
Connect MacBook to TV using Airplay
Apple TV has an HDMI output that allows you to connect your HD heel very well. For Airplay you also need an active WiFi network.
- First, make sure that your Apple TV and MacBook are connected to the same WiFi network.
- Then log in to your MacBook and activate the Airplay icon in the top system bar (see image). If this symbol does not appear, your Apple TV and / or MacBook is not connected to the same WLAN. Then check your configuration again. Alternatively, the symbol could also be deactivated. To display it, open the system settings, click on "Monitors" and tick "Show sync options when available in the menu bar".
- Then select "Apple TV" from the drop-down menu.
- If you now click the Apple TV icon in the top system bar again, you can make some settings. How to expand your desk on your TV or mirror it. You can also adjust the resolution of the screen on your Apple TV to match the television or leave it at the monitor resolution of your MacBook.
- Under "System Preferences" "Open Monitors ..." you can adjust the monitor resolution of your MacBook or calibrate the colors for the display on the TV.
- You can also reposition your screens and move them accordingly under the "Arrange" tab. Screen synchronization is also available.
