Android: delete learned words - how it works
On Android, you can easily delete words you've learned. So if Google thinks it has to suggest wrong words, put an end to this with our instructions.
Delete incorrectly learned words directly using the keyboard
If you want to delete incorrectly typed or saved words immediately, you can do so using the keyboard:
- Type in the word you want to delete so that it appears in the suggested words in the "suggested words bar".
- Tap and hold the wrong word in the "Word suggestion bar".
- After a few seconds, a menu opens and you can delete the word.
Delete words using the settings
If your smartphone does not support the route using the keyboard, you can also delete words using the settings:
- To do this, open the "Settings" of your Android smartphone.
- Select the item "Language & input" (in some cases also "keyboard").
- Call up the item "Personal dictionary" (sometimes also "Text recognition").
- Select the incorrect word and tap the trash can in the top right corner to remove the word. Sometimes you have to long-tap on the entry and then select "Delete".
If you want to completely deactivate the autocorrection, read in this article how this works.
