Caliber doesn't recognize Kindle - what to do?
If Caliber doesn't recognize your Kindle reader, you don't need to despair. In this practical tip, we will show you what you can do.
Connect Caliber to your Kindle
- Make sure that you have only one device connected to the PC.
- Check that you have the latest version of Caliber installed.
- Check that your Kindle is recognized by the PC. Use only an original cable.
- Open the Settings in Caliber and then "Ignored Devices" and make sure your Kindle is not listed there.
- Check that the latest software version is installed on your Kindle.
- The Kindle is often not sufficiently charged. Since the USB port often does not provide enough power, connect your Kindle to a power source for a few minutes.
- If these attempts fail, navigate in Caliber in the settings to "Advanced" and there to "Debug device detection". Write this information with your device in the official bug tracker.
If you are unsure which Kindle is the right one for you, we will compare the different versions for you in a buying guide.
