Increase DPI in photos - is that possible?
You can also increase the DPI resolution of photos afterwards. Find out in this practical tip how to do this.
Photos: Increase the DPI afterwards
First download and install the free GIMP program.
- Open the program and drag & drop the desired image into the program.
- Then choose Image> Scale Image.
- You must now select the "Points" option from the dropdown menu. Enter a lower value to adjust the DPI resolution. With "scaling" the values are accepted and the image is reduced accordingly.
- Save the changed image via "File"> "Save as".
- Note that this will reduce the image. However, the pixel density (DPI) increases, which means that the quality remains the same in the end.
