TV is buzzing - this can help
When the TV is buzzing, the TV pleasure is quickly gone. We give you tips to get rid of the hum.
How to remove annoying hum from your TV
If your TV buzzes continuously, the following steps can help you find the cause and fix the problem:
- Cold solder joints, oxidized connections or electromagnetic radiation in cable connections are often the problem. Find out what the problem is by solving one connection cable after the other.
- Antenna cable: Try a new cable that is as short as possible. If necessary, replace the T-connector.
- If the problem persists, you can connect a sheathed current filter to the antenna cable.
- If long distances cannot be avoided, you can try wireless transmission.
- Scart: Use the shortest possible cable here and avoid using multiple plugs.
- Use wireless scart for long cable runs or if there are strong electromagnetic waves in the vicinity.
- Audio cables: If you use cinch to route audio to an amplifier or active speakers, try shorter cables or use digital transmission such as SPDIF or ADAT.
- Sound interference can also be caused by other devices on the power supply. Temporarily remove potential devices such as microwaves or dimmable lamps. If the hum disappears, you can most likely avert it permanently with a multiple plug with a mains filter.
- If all does not help, call a television mechanic or send the device to the manufacturer through the dealer.
