Change proxy settings in Firefox - how it works
The following steps are necessary to change the proxy settings. Details can be found in the picture gallery.
- In Firefox, click the three bars in the upper right corner to open the menu.
- Select the "Settings" in the menu.
- A new window is opening up. Click on the "General" tab on the left and scroll down to "Network proxy".
- To the right, select the "Settings ..." entry.
- You can now enter a proxy server via "Manual proxy configuration".
When do I need to change my proxy settings?
If you are traveling on the home network, you usually do not need to make any settings and should select the "Use system proxy settings" option. A proxy server for regulating Internet access is usually connected in company networks. This must either be set via "Manual proxy configuration" or via "Automatic proxy configuration URL".
