Delete photo archive from iPhone: save space on iPhone
If you want to free up space on your iPhone, you can delete a photo archive or just empty its cache. We'll show you how it's done.
Delete photo archive on iPhone and free up space
If you have synchronized a folder with pictures as a photo archive with your iPhone via iTunes, a real memory hog is created. The cache allows the images to be synchronized quickly, but if new images are added constantly and old images sometimes disappear, the cache is not properly deleted.
- Open iTunes and connect your iPhone to the computer with a USB cable.
- Click the "iPhone" button in the top right and switch to the Photos tab at the top.
- Remove the checkmark "Synchronize photos" and click on the "Apply" button at the bottom right. The archive is now deleted.
- If you want to keep the photo archive but save a little space, you can easily clear the cache. To do this, disconnect the iPhone and iTunes and close the program.
- Now repeat steps 1 and 2 and check the "Sync photos" option again.
- If you click "Apply" again, the images will be synchronized with the iPhone again, but the cache is now cleared.
If you want to free your iPhone from further data waste, you need additional software such as PhoneClean. This allows you to free up even more storage space.
