iMovie: How to import photos from iPhoto
You can import photos from iPhoto into your iMovie project in just a few steps. In this way, you integrate your images into your video clips. In our guide we explain how this works.
Import photos from iPhoto to iMovie
You can import your pictures from iPhoto into iMovie to create a video clip from a collection of photos:
- Start iMovie on your Mac.
- Now you will see a bar with various symbols on the right side of the program window. Click here on the photo symbol (see picture).
- Now your pictures from iPhoto are displayed. These are organized into categories such as "Events", "Photos" or "Faces".
- Click on a category and select the photos you want.
- Then drag and drop them to the left into your video clip.
Change the display duration of the pictures
Imported images are usually displayed for four seconds. You can set this duration for each picture individually in the following way:
- Double-click on a photo to open the information about the picture.
- Here you will find the line "Duration" (see picture). Enter a desired second value here.
- To apply the display time for all still images, you must check the "Apply to all still images" checkbox.
- Then confirm your entries by clicking "Done".
