iOS 10: Activate "Raise to Wake" function
If you want to unlock your iPhone by simply lifting it, you can activate the "Raise to Wake" function under iOS 10. We'll show you how it's done.
"Raise to Wake" on iOS 10
- If you raise your iPhone at a certain angle, the display turns on with the "Raise to Wake" function. If you do not touch the display after 3 seconds, it simply switches off again.
- If you want to unlock your iPhone even more easily with movement, you can activate another option. All you have to do is put your finger on the home button and no longer press it.
- The function is only supported on newer devices with the A9 processor. These include the iPhone 6S (Plus), the iPhone SE and the new iPhone 7 (Plus).
Instructions: Activate "Raise to Wake" in iOS 10
- First open the "Settings" app on your iPhone.
- Select the "Display & Brightness" category here.
- Check the "Enable on lift" option below.

- Open the "Settings" app again and select the "General" category.
- Under "Accessibility" you will now find the "Home button" item.
- Activate the option "Put finger on to open".
- From now on you only have to put your finger on the home button and no longer press it.
