Unfortunately, there is no direct option to sync an iPhone with Outlook without iTunes. However, we will show you a trick that still works.
Sync iPhone without Outlook with iTunes
With a little detour you can synchronize your iPhone with Outlook - without having to use iTunes:
- To do this, you need a Google account. You have to add this to your iPhone. Then use the free "GSyncIt" program to set up a synchronization between Outlook and iPhone.
- So you can synchronize contacts as well as notes, tasks and appointments with Outlook.
Step 1: create a Google account and set it up on iPhone
First you need to create a Google account (if you don't already have one):
- Go to the Google Accounts page.
- Enter all the necessary information and the security code.
- Add the created Google account in the iPhone. To do this, go to "Settings" and then under "Mails, Contacts, Calendar". With a click on "Add account" you can set up your Google account on the iPhone. To do this, enter your data.
- Then switch back to the settings under "Mail, Contacts, Calendar" and then "Google". Here you have to activate all sliders so that the synchronization with Google takes place.
- Then switch back to the setting "Mails, Contacts, Calendar". Click here again on "Add Account".
- Select "Microsoft Exchange" and enter your Google email address as email and username. In the Password field you have to enter the corresponding password. You can leave the Domain field blank.
- If an error message with a certificate error appears, select "Accept".
- After you have pressed "Next", the "Server" field appears. Enter "m.google.com" here.
- After clicking on "Next", you can choose which data should be synchronized with your Google account. To do this, simply slide the corresponding controls to the right.
Step 2: sync Outlook with iPhone
Now you can start setting up so that you can later sync your iPhone with Outlook.
- After you have installed "GSyncIt", open Outlook and click on the "gSyncIt" tab at the top.
- To expand the tab, click on "Google Sync". Then select "Calendar Sync" and click on the "New" button at the bottom right.
- Enter your data and password here.
- Repeat the process under "Contact Sync" if you want to synchronize your contacts with Outlook and under "Notes Sync" if you want the notes to be synchronized.
- With "Task Sync" your tasks are synchronized with Outlook.
