LibreOffice: Add new fonts
If you find the standard fonts in LibreOffice too boring, you can add your own fonts. They can then be used in tables, documents and presentations. We'll show you exactly how to do this.
Add new font in LibreOffice
LibreOffice uses all fonts available on the system. So if you want to add a new font, you have to install it on your system. In order for this to work, you must be logged into Windows with an administrator account:
- First, close all LibreOffice program windows.
- Then open Windows Explorer and change to the directory in which the fonts to be installed are located. You can find free fonts, for example, in our Top 50 Font Pack or on the page "1001freefonts".
- Right-click a font file. These usually have the extension ".TTF". Tip: If you want to install several fonts directly, click the files one after the other while holding down the [Shift] key.
- Then select the "Install" entry in the context menu and follow the instructions on the screen.
- If you start LibreOffice, the new font is immediately available.
