Mac: Show battery life in the menu bar - how it works
Keep a closer eye on your Mac's battery life by displaying it in the menu bar. This practical tip shows you how to move the battery status there.
Show battery life in the menu bar - so it is possible
- Open via the apple icon in the top left on "System Settings"> "Save Energy".
- In the new window, click on the "Battery" tab.
- At the bottom left you will find the option "Show battery status in the menu bar".
- Check this option. The battery status is now displayed in the menu bar.
- However, you only get the percentage. In the following paragraph we show how the battery level can also be displayed in minutes.
Show battery life in hours and minutes
Since OS X 10.8, the remaining battery life is no longer specified as "time". Install the free Battery Guard widget, however, this works very well:
- Click the Battery Guard icon in the menu bar.
- Then you have to open the "Settings" via the gear icon.
- In the dropdown menu, select "Time" under "Show".
When you come to the office, the Mac has already started up: The following article shows how to automatically start and switch off your Mac.
